My Dear Mum Earlier This Year <3 |
Aren't we lucky, to have them, to know them, to be friends with them, to believe in them, to love them.
"All I am, or hope to be, I owe to my mother." Abraham Lincoln
My Mum was pretty amazeballs, she raised my two sisters, three brothers and I, from the time I was eight when my Dad passed... She made mistakes and she definitely wasn't perfect, but she always tried to do what she felt was right and she passed that strength on to all of us. This will be my first year without her, my first of many mothers days wishing I could hear her voice again and listen to her tell me what to do like she always tried to do... haha!
I'd love to see her smile and to hug her one more time... But, in all of the sadness I know that she tried her best, that she truly loved me and I am truly blessed.
I also have a wonderful Mother-in-Love (law), she's the kind that always supports and loves, she understands or even if she doesn't - she still makes it all feel like it's going to be ok... I'm blessed double!!

It's always nice to do some craft so... As it's Mothers Day Eve here in Australia, I've made my beautiful MIL a card.
All week I have been hand cutting these gorgeous little stamped leaves from the Rooted In Nature Stamp Set, which I stamped on Old Olive, Mint Macaron and Grapefruit Grove Card Stock, with their corresponding Stampin' Up! Stampin' Pad inks.
I used some Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper as my base and used Snail Adhesive to stick that on to Whisper White Card Stock and then I started to stick all the leaves down with a combination of Snail Adhesive and popped some of them up with Stampin' Dimensionals.
After I was happy with the amount of leaves I had, I adhered half a Pearlized Doily on the lower part of the card.
I stamped my sentiment You Are Wonderful on Old Olive Card Stock and wove some Tranquil Tide Bakers Twine from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit around the edges and kept the twine in place using some washi tape underneath.
I like the 3D look so used some Stampin' Dimensionals to pop the sentiment up from the doily and clipped on a mini paper clip from the Share What You Love Embellishment Kit along with a small Silver Adhesive-Backed Rose from the same kit to finish it off.I think it's super sweet and am excited to give into my MIL tomorrow with the little gift we have for her :)
